There are a number of feedback messages that RentalDesk will give you when it encounters problems or issues when it processes a scanned barcode; for example, if you are typing in a barcode to dispatch and make a keystroke error, RentalDesk will most like prompt you with a message 'Barcode not recognised' or 'The Barcode - XXXX is not required on this list'. A standard Window 'ding' sound will also be played to alert you to the problem, but if want to customize the sound played for each type of feedback then you can do this from the Windows Control Panel.
Go to Sounds and Audio Devices, then the Sounds tab. In the Program Events list scroll down until you come to an entry for RentalDesk and you will see many self evident listings of barcode scanning events that you can hook a specific sound to. By default all sounds have the DING.wav associated, but you can Browse to other .wav files to play something more distinctive.
