What is the RentalDesk NX Server?
Top  Next

The RentalDesk NX server is a program that "serves" requested data to the computers that are running the RentalDesk NX application. The server will need to be installed on a computer that can then act as the "server". It is best that this machine not also be utilized as a workstation, however that is not a requirement. Your satisfaction with the speed and reliability of the RentalDesk NX application on your workstations will be dependent on the speed of the server and the machine that is running the server application.

In the multi-user RentalDesk NX system, the server will need to be running and connected to your computer network before your workstations will be able to run RentalDesk NX. Single users will need the server to be running on their machine. Upon installation, a shortcut to the server application will be installed into the startup folder, and therefore should be running in your Windows taskbar. To access the server double click on the RentalDesk NX server in your toolbar.
