Subhire Wizard

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Use the Subhire Wizard to quickly raise subhires when you are short of equipment. The Wizard can be launched from the Equipment List Editor or the Logistics Book, when drilling down on the Eqlists For Type sub-page; and depending on where and how you launch it you will be presented with slightly different options.

From the Equipment List Editor

If the menu "All lines that are short" was clicked, the following version of the Subhire Wizard form would be displayed:

The header area of the Wizard allows us to specify a "supplier", the status of the subhire, and how many hours before and after the period it is covering that should be used to determine its start and end dates.

We then see that a single subhire is going to be raised; the Global flag is off, meaning that this subhire will belong to the same job as the equipment list that raised it, although you are free to change this. The Auto-Allocate column mean that the lines on the newly created subhire will automatically be allocated to the lines on the equipment list that created the subhire. NOTE: the Auo-Allocate option is only ever available if you are subhiring against a single list.

Finally, we see the details of what equipment will be subhired and their quantities. You are able to adjust the quantities by editing the "Subhire In" column. This is useful if your supplier can't get you all that you need. In the above example we have reduced the number of "Punched Hole Guard Rail 5'" from 120 to 60.

If you have expanded your equipment list to allow for entry of a Subhire Cost, and set the Subhire Price Compare Rule in the Configuration:

When you then open the subhire wizard, additional information will appear:

Both the anticipated cost, as well as the default Subhire Cost (as entered in the Inventory Book) will appear. You may then use the arrows to copy the price into the actual cost or edit your own cost if needed.
